Students enjoyed a sold-out edition of LEIP! Festival
On Thursday, September 11, the Oldehoofsterkerkhof once again became the bustling center of Leeuwarden. Thousands of students—from vocational to doctoral candidates—celebrated the end of the introduction weeks and the start of the new academic year during a sold-out edition of LEIP! Festival 2025.
Visitors were treated to an impressive line-up including Ronnie Flex & The Fam, Bankzitters, and Russo, who provided a spectacular conclusion to the introduction period. The Euros, All Tha Fokk, Lies Zhara, and Robin Roij also performed on the main stage. With multiple stages and a variety of music styles, the festival offered a unique experience for every student.
Also back: the underground rave
In the Oldehove -2 parking garage, MBO students from Firda once again organized a mysterious rave, with student DJs behind the turntables. A special experience that once again attracted many visitors.
More surprises
The inflatable UFO stage was transformed into Leeuwarden's largest silent disco, and Leeuwarden Bar Roulette brought the atmosphere of local pubs to the square.
Going out safely together
This year, attention was once again focused on the “Are you okay?” campaign, in collaboration with the municipality of Leeuwarden, to make students aware of each other's well-being.
With a packed square, big names, and creative additions, LEIP! Festival 2025 was once again an unforgettable end to the introduction weeks and an energetic start to the new academic year in Leeuwarden.
A huge thank you to all partners, the municipality of Leeuwarden, NHL Stenden University, Firda, Campus Fryslân, Van Hall Larenstein, all volunteers, and everyone involved who made this possible.
