Leeuwarden has become an international student city in recent years, with over 22,000 students. On September 1, 2025, many brand new first-year students will start their studies. During the introduction week from August 25 through August 28, they will get to know the city and each other during various parts of LEIP! such as the sports and game days and LEIP! Market. On September 11, LEIP! Festival takes place, closing the introduction period. Leeuwarden Student City organizes these days in close cooperation with educational institutions, municipality, student (associations), entrepreneurs and other local partners.
